Supplement 56 Update Webinar (2016)

ABYC Standards and Technical Information Reports for Small Craft Supplement 56 Update Webinar. This webinar presents the significant changes that occurred in this years revision of the ABYC Standards. It is presented by Brian Goodwin, ABYC Technical Director and David Broadbent, Technical Standards Specialist.

13 standards were revised and published for the 2016 supplement. These standards were:

  • H-25, Portable Marine Gasoline Fuel Systems
  • H-26, Powering of Boats

  • P-6, Propeller Shafting Systems
  • P-14, Mechanical Propulsion Control Systems
  • S-8, Boat Measurement and Weight
  • T-1, Aluminum Applications
  • T-5, Safety Signs and Labels

Brian Goodwin

ABYC Technical Director

As the Technical Director at the American Boat and Yacht Council, Brian is responsible for the managing the review and publication of over 70 standards. He also insures the execution of numerous grants awarded to the ABYC Technical Department.  Brian is also actively liaisons with other groups including NMMA, NASBLA, SAMS, NAMS, NFPA, and SAE.   Prior to assuming role as the Technical Director in 2012, he was the Technical Standards Manager at ABYC.
