On May 2, 2020, a 340 Sundancer suddenly exploded at the Lake of the Ozarks, MO killing one and severely injuring others. The vessel burned to the water line and, during recovery efforts, capsized and then sank. The vessel was transported to a local shipyard where it stayed unsecured and unprotected from the elements for two years.
This presentation provides the perspectives and strategies from the expert investigators, trial attorneys, and corporate representative from the initial accident investigation, product evaluation after evidence spoliation, pre-trial discovery, and trial.
